New Black Bond co-axial or PO: Thoughts?

    Hi all,
I have a 40th birthday coming up and have successfully convinced my wife that a new watch is in order.

I've had my eye on the 42mm PO (Black/Black) and it fits fine on my 7" wrist. However, after trying it on over several different occasions at a local AD, I've been feeling like it's a bit heavy and the heft is going to be a distraction. The last time I was at the AD, I tried on the new black Bond co-axial Seamaster for several minutes and really liked its styling and comfort. Now, I'm leaning more towards the Bond.

I'm wondering if those of you who have owned either or both watches for extended periods can give me your insight. I have two other watches (Sinn 756 and a Stowa Antea) but I expect to wear this watch quite a bit as I don't anticipate additional funds for a while. So, I want it to be comfortable.

    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

    I have the PO, 45mm.
Yes it's a heavy watch... and this is what strikes you the most at first.
But trust me, after a week or so, you really get used to it.
So if weight is a factor, dont worry about it... You wont even notice it after a while.

PO all day. I see at least one Seamaster a day.

I admit owning the 'blue bond' co-axial version might make be biased, but if you intend for it to be your daily wearer, you might be better off going for the Bond SMP. It's thinner, so it'll fit under sleeves easier, and because it's slightly smaller, could make a better dress watch if needed.

On the other hand, if the added size and weight don't bother you, the PO is a little more unique in that its basic design hasn't been on the market for 15 years like the SMP.

i actually prefer the blue bond ( though the black is fine)...so it would be PO for me.

if you can get used to the weight ( i certainly did) of the PO, i think you'd end up loving it. as the above poster mentioned, you get used to it real fast. it doesnt feel as heavy as most divers, that's for sure. i felt that it was a little heavy the first day or so...after that, I barely notice the weight. i only notice how cool it is!

I have a blue bond which is basically the black one also and its a great watch.. like you stated its smaller and slick such that its comfortable (not htat the PO isnt!)..and makes a great dress watch. However, if i had the chance for a 42 PO i would defintiely go that route as i reckon its a much more versitile piece looking great both on a SS bracelet and rubber strap.

IMO, the bond watches look best with its bond bracelet. But the PO seems to pull off both. And i wouldnt worry about the weight either, both watches are so comfortable after while you wont notice the weight :)

I wouldn't worry about the weight you will soon get used to it.....go for the PO it's a great watch, I had the 45 on a 7'' wrist weighing in at over 200g and it wore fine so the 42 should be perfect

    Don't worry about the "weight"...

you won't even notice it once you put the watch on.
