NYC Swatch Sale: what should be expected?

Hi everyone. Just wondering, do you think the NYC Swatch Group Sample Sale will include **awesome** deals (on Omega watches, I mean; don't really care about the rest)?

In the past sales, how were the discounts? Anyone here attended?

The story is that I can't go on the 13th, but could go on the 14th, provided I drive all night .

I was wondering if it's worth it to drive all night long to get to NYC to get a great watch at a great price. Are we expecting 50% off or more? If the prices are similar to the ones by our AD, it's obviously not worth it (the gas alone will cost me $200 or so, both ways).

Please help me make my mind!

X, if I recall correctly, there are deals to be had in the 1/2 off range. That being said, the selection is very limited. There were many *display* models, some that had been repaired and returned and sold as new. The cream of the crop went pretty fast. Like anything else, know what you are buying and check it over well. If my recollection is incorrect, somebody please set it straight.
    Alas, time stays, we go.

Seems like it would be a good place to pick up a model that not so popular
or one of the slow sellers. Maybe a good 33XX based Omega.

    Thanks for the info.

So, if I read you guys correctly, it's not worth it for me to drive all night, pay gas and skip a day at work (lose a vacation day), for attending this event.

Especially since I would probably **only** go for a PO or a Speedmaster Pro (my current 'wish list' candidates).

If its anything like the Tourneau sample sale about a month ago, then the selection is going to be pretty thin, but then again, I went on the last day. Also keep in mind that you'll probably get 50% off the higher MSRP since prices are going up on Nov. 1. Since I'm in NY, I'll probably check it out anyhow.
