Re: The Perfect 3 Watch Rotation

My third alternative, for an all-Omega, all-mechanical trio:

Dad's old Omega (dress, special occasion)
PO w/ black bezel and orange numbers or a blue AT annual calendar (daily)
40th Anniversary Apollo 15 Speedy (the mission flew on my birth month!)

I don't need a radio-synced watch, do I? Because 1) my phone can serve as a perfect reference and 2) if I'm running to-the-minute at my workplace, that means I'm bad at time management. Also notice that only one of my three has a date window. If I plan to wear one watch a lot, and if I don't expect to use a winder for the collection, I don't want to be resetting the date whenever I pick up any of the rarely-worn watches.

Also, if I don't have to include my dad's watch, I'd replace it with the blue DeVille Hour Vision. The Orbis connection should temper my excessive consumption with a small sense of social responsibility. ;) :p Sorry, I haven't gotten a good shot of it yet.

    I have a POC 9300 black bezel.

    Thinking of Rolex Sub Green
    and IWC Portuguese 5001-07.

Just cant decide whether to buy Rolex or IWC first!

it completely depends on your approach to collecting: by type (like dress, casual, sports etc) or land, sea, air or complication (chrono, GMT etc)..my three would be:
PO (that you already have, sports, automatic, diver)
Speedy (being classic, hand wound and chrono)
DeVille Tresor (dress and >15000 gauss)

    or
    PO (same as above)
    Speedy (same as above)
Hour Vision Annual Calendar (dress annual calendar)

    or finally
    PO (same as above)
    Speedy (same as above)
Explorer II (polar, adding white dial, GMT)

Only three? I'd pick an Explorer I like the OP, but vintage 6610. Second would be a Breguet 5907.

    And lastly a Casio 5600.

6610 for work, 5907 for formal events and 5600 for the mountains and the seas.

I am lucky enough to own variants of each. Doesn't stop me from looking at others.... unfortunately.
Pretty much the same 3 I'd choose. I already have a PO2500 and a Speedy 3570.50 so that just leaves a Skyfall AT in the next 2 years hopefully. I think I would still add a 4th down the line when I gathered enough funds.- IWC Portuguese Chrono. At that point I'd be done with watches. I would keep my Orient Mako as my beater watch.

Good point. The hesalite is one step down from titanium. I'm exaggerating, but it really is incredibly strong. The Speedmaster is not at all delicate, but don't try to go diving with it on. You will be very disappointed.
