    Saying goodbye tomorrow

I made a very difficult decision last week to sell my 105.012, one I hope not to regret down the road. A couple of factors drove my decsion. First, the watch was simply too nice to wear regularly. I lived in fear that something would happen every time I strapped it on. Consequently, it spent more time in the watch box than I would like from one of my watches, something I can't abide by being a "wearer" rather than a "collector." Second, for the sales price, I can afford to replace it with two nice, if less pristine pre-moon Speedys. I'll be shopping for just one, and trying to decide what to do with the rest of the cash!

That was a tough decision to make, but hopefully whatever you replace it with will be just as interesting.

To quote what's-his-name, "I feel your pain." The 105.012 is a special Speedy Pro.

Like you, I'm a wearer, not a collector. I too wanted to wear mine without fear of damage and for that reason replaced the original parts (except the movement) with NOS. The original parts were placed in storage. Problem solved.

But my 105.012 does not get that much wear with the completion in the watch case these days. Even the LM and GMT IIc are worn less than the electric blue and PW2.

But would I let my "Neil" watch go? No way! It remains the one untouchable in the box. (An added "keeper factor" is that it is promised to my grandson. )

Wow... tough decision to make, but if you are not wearing it its probably the way to go.
