    Shockproof of omegas

I wanted to know how shockproof omegas are and whether I should worry if I dropped my gsotm on a tile floor 2 feet from my bed.

A ceramic watch is not something you want to drop on tile. It will shatter like your happiness.

And I would be careful of having the movement checked too in case this happens.I prefer divers with steel bezels

Tile floors are bad for watches and even worse for ceramic watches as noted. Here's an old thread on shock protection still relevant to this discussion. All modern omega have a fair amount of shock protection but hard to survive a fall +3 feet for any metal cased mechanical watch. You may be ok at 2.

Yea seems fine from all angles. Nothing chipped or anything. It didn't drop extremely hard. The floor is wood tiles if that makes it any difference.

Couldn't agree with you more. I think there was a thread a while back about someone dropping theirs. Pictures were too painful to look at.

I'd love a grey side of the moon but this worries me. I have a 5 month old son he likes to play with my watches. I could just see it getting smashed!!

Can't say I've ever dropped a watch on a tile floor. And FWIW, I've always thought the hype about ceramics shattering to be more hype than anything else. Fact is no one really knows the threshold. I can say I caught my DSOTM once on a metal door frame and that the impact force seemed to be equivalent or greater to that of dropping one. Nada nothing. Still keeps great time.

I've also caught it many times on my metal cabinets in the garage with no ill effects. But those are nothing compared to that one time.

If there's no damage you should be fine like what others have said. Also, I hope this doesn't happen to your watch. I fancy steel cases.
