For me, the ultimate dive/'tool' watch. Beautiful Military Sub-style sword hands, perfect case size, slim profile and the best lume I've ever seen on a wristwatch - keeps me up at night! Just about acceptable with a suit what do you reckon...?
Greetings,
Courtesy of Fr. John, I did a slight modification and added a display back to mine this past week.
It was an easy install via Precision Watch Repair in Philly, and it passed the pressure test as well.
Still not sure if I want to sell it and go with a PO 8500, but for now I'm content to leave well enough alone.
Here is the newly unveiled rear view, so to speak....
YMMV,
b.
This is the watch most likely to be my 3rd Omega. Had the chance of an absolute mint condition piece last year for £1k but no funds at the time. Some other lucky bugger nabbed it.
I shoulda sold a kidney...
Thanks to Fr. John I was able to get one of the last 2254.50 models that our FAD had in stock after they were discontinued a few years ago. From the beginning I have regarded my 2254.50 to be a keeper as I regard it to be an Omega Classic. Cheers, Bill P.
This is the watch experience I've been looking for. It's been like that moment when I discovered my favorite cup of Caribou coffee, or like a cold mug of Fat Tire. You just know its right for you.
I'm dropping mine with the watchmaker Monday to have the 2230 dial and PO second hand installed. I like the applied logo on the diver, although I wouldn't change the dial on my 3570.
Can I be really cheeky and ask how much that's costing? I was thinking of doing the same at the next service in a few months. Are you planning on keeping the original dial or trying to sell it to offset some of the costs?
Too bad they discontinued it, but it's ok for those of us who have one...they've increased in popularity and price on the second hand market. Still one of the more comfortable wearing and most legible divers out there, without crossing over in the over-sized watch craze crowd. I like mine.

Gone but not forgotten. Of all the dive watches I've owned, this one went the deepest with me - about 15 feet. I took it snorkeling in both Cancun and Hawaii. Didn't quite need to use the He escape valve though!
It is that. I really like how the pattern is a smaller scale than other such straps. It gives it a more matte finish, I feel. I didn't really like their buffalo strap, but I've bought three of these now. I think it's the perfect 2254 strap.
