Sigh..Yes I have started another one of "those threads" lol

    Hey everybody,

Been a whole since I last posted in the Omega forum! But I'm back! But I have returned with a terrible illness that sadly seems too be contageous around the Omega forum. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I am referring to the one and only PO BUG.
Hahaha. Anyways, I love my SMP and it continues to be the prize of my collection but I feel now it is time to aquire a new addition. I REALLY want a PO! I dont really have any interest in a liquid metal one as I can neither afford one or do I like the "bezel bling". But alas, on my quest to aquisition I have hit the all to familiar road bump that many others have suffered. What size to get!?!? I have a 6.5 wrist and my wrists are flat as a 2X4 on the top. My SMP is a nice fit @ 41mm. I really like the 45.5 but I do not know if it will look monstrously big on my wrist. Will my wrists flatness work as an advantage? also does the XL PO wear smaller? I also have the apeal of going for the Casino Royale theme as I already have my 2220.80 and an XL PO on the stock rubber would be a great addition. Also does the 42mm version wear larger than it appears? I know the main issue for alot of folks is getting the PO under a shirt sleeve but for me I already have my smp which is perfect for the formal occasions and I dont often wear a suit as it is being that I'm still in univeristy. Anyways, I know I could have used the search bar but writing these threads are half the fun and the best research I find is done through first hand interaction.

Pleasr post your pics as I know you all have tonnes and please offer any an all feedback you can!

    Cheers,

    Eric

Hi Eric and welcome back, your best bet is to try before you buy, but I think the 42 would be the best for you. I have seen many post like this and the person bought the 45 then regretted it and swapped it for a 42. I dont own a PO but tried them on and I have just over 7" wrist and thought it was pushing it for me. My nephew wears a very big watch face but he is a tall lad, but thats the fashion for now.

thanks for the input. I'm pretty tall myself (6'1) my main concern is that the 42 mm may not look at good on the rubber strap as the 45.5 one would. I dont know if this fear has any merit, but I seldomly see a 42mm PO on a rubber strap.

The PO 2201.50 looks great on a rubber strap.

I used to own a SMP (2531.80) and have tried on a 42mm PO several times. As has been stated by many people, to me the 42mm PO actually wears a bit smaller than the 41mm SMP. It is taller, but overall wears smaller. I have a wrist size similar to yours and personally I would never get the 45mm. But it all boils down to personal preference - I tend to be a bit more conservative and not buy into the "big watch fad." So although it is a not very satisfying answer, your best bet would be to try both sizes on before making your decision.

the PO 2500, right? get the 42m version. your wrists are only 6.5" even if they are flat top. mine are flat and 6.75" and the 45 is way too big. if you're talking about the 8500 that's something different altogether.

I have already tried both but sadly I got so swept up in how beautiful they both looked I didnt bother to notice which I prefered more on my wrist haha. As I recall I liked them both.

yes i mean the 2500 version. so you think itll be to large? I worry the 42mm may be too small then. As stated above it does wear smaller than 42mm. my SMP is 41mm and if it were any smaller Id think it was too small for my wrist.

My wirst is 7' and I think the 2254.50 at 41mm and the 2201.50 at 42mm fits me perfectly....

I tried the 45.5 PO before... while the lugs does not protude beyong my wrist, it is too large to look good on my wrist..or rather my wrist makes it look really huge...

So it depends on which look you are after... if you prefer the more balanced look, then the 42.... if you prefer the BIG watch look then the 45.5

Without a photo its difficult to guage but you need to have some skin showing either side of the lugs for it to be an aesthetic fit. ALso you need to be able to see some strap too. Without that you will have the hockey puck look which is bloody awful. The 45.5 does wear a little smaller with a rubber strap but why limit yourself to that option when the PO is so versatile?

Chris (muddy250) wears a 45.5mm and it fit hims perfectly.

This photo below is from another forum member Katgirl and she is wearing a 42mm PO and her wrist is barely over 6 and a half inches.

And as final food for thought. the black bezel model wears a little bigger than the orange one.

    Dan
