Speedmaster 9300 thread...

It's a killer watch and looks equally great on bracelet or strap. My only nagging dislike is the orientation of the subdials. Is it me or do they look more "reduced" than "pro"? I think I'd like the overall look better if they were closer to center.

I like the widely-spaced subdials, in part because they demonstrate that there is a large movement inside this large-ish case. So many contemporary chronograph movements in 44-45mm cases result in the subdials being ridiculously squished toward the center of the dial. Not saying you're wrong - you are more than entitled to your aesthetic preferences

It has an adjustable clasp (one position) and no half links are available.

Was it one of your posts that I read stating that Omega was back-ordered on 1/2-links?

The bracelet tapers from 21 at the lugs to 17mm while the strap tapers to 18mm. I think the bracelet could have been thicker...

I plan to run mine on a black croc with the 20mm Omega deployant and the bracelet most of the time. I'll have a custom strap done for it.

21mm to 17mm!!! That sounds ridiculous! Does anyone have pics of the strap/clasp? Can't wait to see the straps!

Other observations: Mine has lost 75 seconds in 47 days which is -1.6 secs per day. That in itself is impressive but the -1.6 has been consistent whether the watch is worn or not and regardless of storage position when not worn. The Speedy 9300 features in the latest edition of Watchtime magazine, and when talking about the watches deviation said: "Given these results, the Speedmaster Co-axial ranks among the most accurate watches we have ever tested".

That's good to read! I just picked up that issue & found that there is a minimal weight difference b/w the 3570.50 & the 9300 as well

I got a smooth leather strap from an ebay seller. I also got a croc. strap from ekamon. I find both look fantastic with the speedy.

Any pics of the croc strap?

The dial looks kinda glossy in some shots, but I've not heard anything about it being enamelled or anything? What does the dial look like in the flesh?
