Travel & Display Watch Case Suggestions & Thoughts on Omega Watch Boxes?

Evening all. I'm on the look out for a watch case to hold my modest collection of Omegas and would appreciate some suggestions. I've done some casual browsing on the web, but haven't found so many that really light my fire, except the branded 3x box from Omega. I would (just) be willing to spend the ~300 EUR on the Omega one, but I'd be interested to hear if there are similar alternatives without the premium price associated with an OEM product. I'm also interested in hearing the thoughts of those who own one of the Omega boxes.

Here are the specifications I'm interested in:

    • Three watch capacity (three in storage, one on the wrist)
    • Real leather exterior
    • Suitable for watches on bracelets adjusted to fit small wrists (I don't like when I have to squeeze the clasp to close a bracelet over a fat cushion, or that the bracelet won't close at all)
    • Suitable for use as a travel case as well as a display case (e.g. with a closing mechanism and with cushions or holders that are held firmly in place and small enough to fit into average hand luggage)

I might have the chance to view the Omega box next month when I travel to a city that has a boutique. In the meantime, any thoughts on these Omega boxes or suggestions on alternatives? Thanks in advance.

Want to save some money? Forget the watch box and just wrap up your watches in two pairs of socks, protects them just as well, and is less likely to being ripped off by baggage handlers who may look through you suitcase. The watch box has "Steal Me" written all over it!

My favorite single watch cases are Oakley or IWC....
The Oakley runs about $25 if you can find them.... And the IWC quite a bit more....
But have seen the IWC sell for cheap here are on WUS (in parts and accessories sales forum)
I have the Omega one... Have it on my South Carolina trip right now.... First time using it and I love it!! Very pricey but holds the watches nice and tight against the padded top. The leather wrapped steel loops that hold the watches can be adjusted (you man handle the watch over them)... They do fit very snug (7.5" wrist).... On purpose. Has beautiful leather exterior as well..... Dis-advantage is it's pricey.... Bit like a helmet (what's your head worth).... What are your watches worth!

    Sorry for crappy iPad images!
Hope the pics make sense.... The two single cases have the IWC on the left and the Oakley on the right...
The cushion that fits in the IWC is quite soft but once in the case holds the watches great...

Forget the watch cases. Your collection is to die for!! If I had a collection like that I would spend over an hour every morning pondering on which one to wear. I would go NUTS!!!

Wear them in good health Sir

To be honest, I didn't even know those Omega boxes existed. They look great.

But I have a watch box that cost less than $40 from Amazon. And I use the Omega red cases (that look like eyeglass cases) when I travel. Not sure if those leather boxes are quite worth the major dough they are asking.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I maybe should have elaborated on the travel part of it. All going to plan, I'll be moving to a new country towards the end of the year. I'm looking for a case that can securely transport three watches in my hand luggage (as I'm not sending them with the shipment company), but also be used as an elegant display case afterwards. I might not actually use it as a travel case again, as I don't normally travel with three additional watches, but thought it would be good to kill two birds with one stone as I will anyway buy a new display case. I do have one of the Oakley cases and a couple of Omega service cases already. Hope that makes more sense.

    Any further thoughts are welcome!

@ nairb-ca, thanks for confirming that the Omega case holds your watches tightly without them moving around. That's one of the things I wanted to be sure of. Your collection looks great in there.

WOW.... that's quite the collection you have. All the latest models.... I would be so paranoid carrying all of those on a trip.
