UPS brokerage fees for imports into US on orders from ACE

Question - wanted to ask if members based in the US could post or PM me briefly their experiences and approximate duties and brokerage fees on orders with ACE.

All my prior shipping and import experience with international orders has been with FedEx, and all went well there. FedEx brokerage fees are reasonable and listed on their website. I could not find comparable information on UPS website.

I understand that ACE ships via UPS, so wanted to ask if folks on here who've ordered from ACE and imported into UPS might be able to share with me their order total, as well as what they paid to UPS as duty and brokerage/forwarding fee, to help me get a feel of what I might expect to pay to UPS on an order I am considering (and expecting) to place with ACE.

    Thanks in advance!
    best,
    Mark

Well, taxes and duty will vary based on region. In terms of brokerage fees, it was something like $18. You will pay your typical state/provincial tax. In Ontario, Canada, I had to pay 13% sales tax, 5% duty for mechanical watch (stupid!), and $18 brokerage.

    Why the difference?

I live in Massachusetts (Boston). How much extra fees (taxes, import, etc.) would I have to pay to buy from Ace?

I paid less than $94 to UPS when my SMPc was delivered. That works out to roughly 3%. YMMV.

US buyers - does ACE accept credit card or paypal, or is payment by wire transfer only?

    cheers,

I purchased a watch through ace earlier this week and paid using a visa.

So when the watch is delivered, will UPS let you know in advance how much is owed for the brokerage fee or do you just pay the delivery person on the spot? How do you pay, is it cash only or do they take CC?

Did you miss the post about the guy who talked about foreign transaction fees on his credit card? A simple email to Ace would tell you he accepts credit cards and wire transfers in US dollars. Still an international wire but in USD.
