    Is This Vintage Seamaster Authentic?

Hello, I'm trying to buy a vintage Omega Seamaster but I am having doubts. I looked up the reference number on the caseback and it says it belongs to an Omega De Ville. Maybe the case back was switched. Here are pictures, can you guys verify if it's authentic?

    Serial number: 34234745
    Reference number: ST 111.0108

Maybe you want a more detailed breakdown -or- critique of your watch but it seems to me you have done the research the the 'so-called' experts would do and looked up the case-back ref # in the database and determined it has a caseback-(and in my opinion-the whole case) of a DeVille. So you know that much.

And while it may not be an "original" Omega SM -it still seems like all of its bits and pcs are 'authentic' Omega parts. So-your watch is technically an authentic Omega that was probably pieced together from at least one other watch. (unless-and this is certainly a possibility because I'm not the "voice of authority" on vintage.- there was a deville case with a SM dial?) But you dial looks pretty good. I'm not even positive if its a re-dial, It all looks good except for the Omega symbol seems a bit wide -but that could be the camera/crystal distortion. I'm sure others will have detailed opinions as well. But I think your answer is: authentic? Yes. Original? No.

Even if your watch is pieced together which some would call a "franken" it is a nice looking watch that has nothing that glaringly stands out as being wrong with it. In otherwords: It may not be an original SM but it still looks pretty good. Hopefully you were not mislead by the seller and the price reflected this and you can just enjoy it for the nice looking watch it is.

The thing was the seller didn't mention anything about that, but it could be possible that the seller doesn't know anything about it. If you were buying this watch, how much would you pay for it max? The thing is, I hear that vintage watches are worth less if they're "franken-watches." Thoughts?
