It looks like they turned the teak dial sideways, the crown guard from the 300m, and HE valve from the PO, and a little rolex'y bezel and mashed them all together.

Like it a lot more than the previous generation.

As much as I like how it looks in renders and photos, I've always found the case of the old 300m a bit lacking and a bit plain so I will reserve full judgement on this model until I can actually see it and handle it.
I also said before that I didn't really like the funny tabs on the bezel but having since seen and handled the current 300m model with them, they're not as noticeable in the metal as they are in the over-blown images.
Still don't like how the lugs and bezel come together though.

As has been said, that bezel (with smaller numerals than used before), dial and in particular that blue is very good looking. To be fair, that black isn't to shabby either.
In the pictures and in my eyes, it looks better than the SMP but not quite as good as the Planet Ocean.

Disclaimer: I don't particularly like the Rolex style circles+bars dial markers or the Omega skeleton hands.

WIS Handbook, Chapter 1, Rules 1 and 2:
    1. Tag Heuer never wins a poll. Should a member feel the need to express the desire to own one, he or she may be subject to ridicule and be ostracized.
    2. Omega wins all polls. Should Omega not be mentioned as a selectable option, it is highly suggested that you still recommend the polling member purchase an Omega, preferably a Speedmaster with hesalite crystal to add extra character and a certain warmess to the dial.

Thought for the day: if watches and brands were people, how many of you would be racists?

Hi! Seeing this post reminded me of... Myself!

I bought a TAG aquaracer last year dec and really loved it! It's in black and looked great, similar make with the omega seamaster.

But I realized I still kept going online looking at watches by omega and particularly the seamaster. It took me 2 months to realize that seamaster is what I really wanted, and omega has always been that brand that appeals to me so...

I ordered the black bond w ACE at a price which I can't resist! Yup, I've two watches now of similar make and people do question the wisdom of it but I'm happy, though I could've had a TAG of a different make and bought my omega.

All in all, think before purchasing it. Honestly, who really needs to go 500m down the sea?

However, I do agree that the new aquaracer 500m are really nice! For me, 41mm is the way to go! Anything more than 43 seems weird on me!

Make a choice and let us know abt it! ^_^ good luck!

I have to say, it looks very good.

What I am surprised about though, is the use of the helium valve at the 10 o'clock position. Surely there's no functional reason for the valve to be in that spot? I can imagine Omega suing Tag over that. Considering all the cases between Apple and Samsung lately, that doesn't seem too farfetched right?

My sentiments exactly.. Its what I've been saying in my previous post. Glad I'm not the only one here that notices the helium valve. Clear copycat. I always thought the helium valve in that position was patented by Omega as a signature look on their Seamasters...

Not a fan of the hands or the dial , come to think of it not a fan of the 41mm size either !

    The rest is fine

Big upgrade on that watch - not my cup of tea, but it's an overall good look. I especially appreciate the subdued Tag logo - I've found the brightly colored traditional version very off-putting on their higher-end watches in the past, but the new subdued version looks classy and still clearly a Tag.

    Nicely done!

Shame it's a Tag. Overpriced to say the very least. But enjoy it, if that's what you like
