    Haha, right on!

On the flip side, I was once having dinner with a couple of colleagues from work. Both guys are into watches. One of them was wearing a new SMPc chrono he had bought a week before. Naturally I asked to see it (a beautiful piece btw). He was kind enough to take it off and let me handle it. When flipping the watch over to see the caseback I noticed the plastic was still on the caseback. A bit of an awkward moment: do I say anything? Anyway, I tell him that I can see he must really love the watch since he kept the plastic on the back. Turns our he hadn't noticed it was there ... for a whole week... despite the blue flapping bit, lol.

I realized then that not everyone who buys a luxury watch will obsess and inspect every nook and cranny.

Actually the case back plastic cover is different from the others. They tend to fall off and anyway become scrappy over time so you want to take them off, i.e. its actually not nice to keep them on.
However the cover on the back, if smooth and flat, can stay on for ages and is quite comfortable, affording extra scratch resistance.

There is an element of personal taste here, but I like keeping the case back protector on for as long as it stays ...

Not much to add other than "great watch - enjoy". But then, I'm biased:

how do you keep your looking so great ?
all my watches end up with some scratches
perhaps I should take it off when doing anything except sitting, walking or eating ;)
