What Omega has the best resale value?

I received a 2500 gift card for a regional jewelry store has Omega. I generally buy from the used market due to the typical store markup. I love the Seamaster / Planet Ocean but was wondering from a resale perspective what model (new or newish) I would do the best on?

The Speedy Pro and the PO are about as liquid as one can get with Omega watches. They both have a solid pre-owned market and with the imminent increase in prices with the new PO lineup, the demand for the current PO should create price support. Especially since the current PO is being phased out.

I traded for my LiquidMetal PO a year ago and I have been offered MSRP+ several times. Because it is a limited edition that will soon be a sell-out, I suspect it will retain its value over the long haul.

I would say from a resale perspective it'd be very close between the Speedy Pro and the PO.
However, I wouldn't buy a watch your not comfortable with just because of the resale value of it.

    cheers.

6 months to a year ago I would have said the Ploprof 1200, but as a percentage of MSRP its resale value recently is typically in line with a PO or Speedy Pro. The 8500 Aqua Terras have been pretty decent as well. This is based purely on my memory of perusing the sales corners and ebay and is in no way scientific, though!

Whichever one you aren't trying to unload in a year.

    Buy the watch you like.

I'd say that the Speedy Pro has the lowest risk attached over all but the shortest of terms.

Which current PO is being phased out?

    Thanks,

if you buy new you will always lose money when you come to sell or trade. out of the current lineup i would say a lightly worn speedmaster pro will hold its value more than most
