    X-33, No Alarm!

    Hello all,
Hope someone can enlighten me with ideas.

After sending my X-33 to the local jeweler for a battery replacement my alarm does not sound.
    The illumination funtions properly.
The digital display flashes but no sound!!
The jeweler is claiming no foul on his part and is requesting to send for repairs.

Is there a simple fix that I can do?
    Has anyone encountered similiar problems?

I have had this watch for six years and maybe it wouldn't hurt to send to Omega for repairs?

Thanks ahead for your comments and suggestions.

    Welcome to the forum Smachalski,

As an fellow X-33 owner its great to see more posters mentioning what I think is the best product Omega has ever made. Have a look at this thread I dug up, it may be the exact same problem you are describing and the diagnosis you are after...

    Quiet X33 Alarm

And as per a response in the thread above, it may also be time to get your watch serviced.

    All the best,

    Alex

The back may be screwed down too tight.

    What Jake said.

When the caseback is too tight the pressure pushes on the movement and causes the alarm not to work...

is this really possible given that the back on an X-33 is held by individual screws rather than a single screw treaded case back???

All the more reason for it to happen. It's not necessarily all screws that are too tight but one.

It happened to mine after a battery change.

Or I guess I could just be making it up...

    Thanks to everyone!!
I will try to repair myself before I send it to Omega.
What is it Omega will be doing if I send it.
I have read that the watch will almost be new when it is returned.
How long has everyone had there X-33?

I only had my gen II X-33 for about 6 months before I sold it.
It was a great watch, but I a little too "techno" for me and for some reason I just didn't care for the Titanium.
Also, I was offered $1000 more than what I paid for it
