Hi there,

This is a new to me Seiko Sportsmatic 6619 8060 TAD. Waterproof Diashock 21 Jewels.

I inherited it from my uncle after he passed away. I initially thought it wasn't working when I was given it about 18 years ago and it has been with my mother for safe keeping as it belonged to her younger brother.

I have recently become interested in watches and remembered I had this one at my mum's house and that it might actually be an automatic. So last time I was there I asked about it. I gave it a few shakes and to my suprise it started going again.

I've done a little searching here and on the net but can't seem to find another on like it. I've seen one with the same codes (movement?) but not the same face or case.

Anyone have any ideas or more info about it?

It's been well worn, my uncle must have worn it daily I'm guessing. The crystal and case are quite scratched and the band is a bit bent and scratched also. I'm thinking that I'll get it restored/cleaned up if I can find a local watch repairer and it's not to expensive. It keeps pretty good time considering it's been sitting in a draw for about 18 years! I'm also thinking about a different band maybe leather.

I really like it's simplicity. It is very small though only 35mm across.
