Is there a rule of thumb when pressing pins in a bracelet? How far they should be pressed in? Too far? Not far enough?

Not to sound like a smart-a$$, but look at the other (adjacent) pins. Push your new ones in the same amount.
Omega: Speedmaster Pro, Speedmaster Broad Arrow, Seamaster Pro (EB), & Constellation C-Shape.
Breitling: Windrider Duograph.
Seiko: A bunch. They are so tempting.
Notable Others: Stowa Flieger, JB Gioacchino Handwound, Suunto Ambit, Casio G-Shock, & Waltham Pocket Watch.
I'm asking because I was given a bracelet that was taken apart. So If you have nothing to compare to, is there a rule of thumb?

just try to make both side even, it's not that complicated at all.
as long as the pin is in good shape(not bend or twisted) they will not slip out of position.
