I bought a SUN043 a couple of weeks back. It came with a 5 second indication of battery charge. I immediately started wearing it, though my workplace is largely a sedentary affair, except for a half-hour of brisk walking every day. After one week it went up to the 10 second position when doing the charging check. I then got hold of a Braun toothbrush charger from ebay, and started keeping it overnight, first with the crystal up for almost a week, and continuing with the daily half-hour walk. At the end of the 2nd week it moved to the 20 second mark. Then I read a thread on another forum where the poster talked of placing it face down, with the 6 o'clock facing out. I did this for two nights, and had an active Sunday morning doing some housework. Voila - it now hits the 30 second mark. I have kept the watch in it's box for the last 20 hours, and it's still showing 30sec full charge. I will rest it now for a full two days and see if the indication holds. If it drops, I plan to use the Braun charger exclusively to take it back up, in the face down position, and see if it's really the Braun that is working. In any case the feeling of triumph is great, for the moment!
    hi sir

could you please take a picture on how you charge your watch upside down?

i have the sun065 and can't find the proper angle on the toothbrush charger.

A little off topic here but should wearing it at least 3 times a week be okay? I like the SUN series and would wear the hell out of it!

What about the other watches in my watch box? They need wrist time too!

yeah, other watches need wrist time as well.

but the problem with my usage is ...
i used the SUN065 the whole day in the office (yes i dive my desk 4 hours at a time), didn't even register 1 tick of charge.

A normal desk job type activity is just not enough. One must factor in a minimum 20 min brisk walk a day. My walk style makes the watch hand swing around 1200 times within those 20 minutes, which I figure are worth at least 4 days charge according to the Seiko 5m85 manual (500 swings = 2 days). Yes I counted the whole time, this is how obsessed we WUS people are!
In my case, as the watch was fairly new, I did not want the battery to die prematurely with a half-charge, so I did my best to get her up to the 30 sec. mark. Now that it's done it should be easier to maintain it. How old is your SUN065, and did it ever reach full charge?

i've never gotten it to full charge.

only 20 seconds mark, once when i had the local seiko store charge it for me, and second after shaking the watch while i was watching tv.

Try to get the Seiko store to take it to 30sec. maintaining it will be a lot easier

I'm a desk diver too but I move around a lot so with that logic my kinetics will always have good charge.
