    Citizen Independent Digital 1481010

I got this on the bay simply because it was unusual and the price was great. I don't know much about the age, market etc so any info is mucho appreciato. It is in very good working condition, with lots of digi-features: Stop-watch, count down timer, dual time, alarmS, date and a really functional blue back-light for EZ nite views. Condition is very good, it looks polished and the movement is in excellent condition as viewed in recent battery change. Kinda has a UFO-ishness look to it. and now------PICOLAS

I have an Independent Digital that I bought new in 1999. The Independents were produced in several styles and I was told they were primarily intended for the Japanese market, where they developed a cult following. The fact that they were supplied with Citizen Japan rather than Citizen UK papers and box seems to confirm this. Here they were only sold through a limited number of dealers for about two years (1999 - 2001, I think). The price range was ~ £120 - £180. The bracelet on mine broke during a battery change in 2007 and, as replacements were unavailable, I unfortunately had to settle for a strap (the supplied bracelet was a unique fit to the watch and only the original Citizen ones would do). Great unusual watches, though. A shame they disappeared from the market as I would certainly have bought another.

THANK YOU, I appreciate the info, it's always nice to know some history on the "neo-vintage" time pieces.
