Also all of the ones on eBay seem to be priced at around 180-200 dollars. Is that too cheap to be real? some online retailers have them as high 300. Uugghh so confusing

Well, in the US those are accurate prices. I am not sure elsewhere.

Watches-Bay has been good for me:

    Seiko Men Watch Scuba Diver 7S26 Auto 200m Sport +Xpress SKX007 SKX007K1 | eBay

That's from the USA eBay site, but it says they ship to Australia. Their prices are usually competitive.

I've bought like 3 watches from them with no issues.

Edit: I think they're actually the same company as watches-au that you linked in the OP.

The ones priced for near 300 might be the Japanese market model. The SKX007k and SKX007J are essentially the same watch, but with slightly different dials.

Also, buying the watch on its stock bracelet is a more pricier option.

SKX series divers are one of the best in their price range, and their quality, reliability, robustness are top notch.

Have you ever thought of buying a second hand in a good condition to try it?

I also like the SS (Steel) bracelets but I also have the same hair pinching problem on my hairy wrists. I have been using leather and two ring Zulu and sometimes Nato straps. I love the Zulu straps for their super ease of changing without scratching the lugs and for their super comfort.

Keep us updated, and wear it in the best of health . . .

    Re: First Auto

I bought my 007J from Creation Watches, because I really wanted the J (21 Jewels) version. I thought it was an assurance of better quality (stupid me).
Also I wanted the original Seiko (OEM) Oyster bracelet. So the model I have is SKX007J4.

The hour/minute hands were not aligned. The difference was about 10 minutes. So much about the "quality" of the J version.

I have payed way too much at the end:

    price (239 eur) + fedex (24 eur) + customs (52,76 eur) + other (fedex) expenses (10 eur)!

At the end, I went to the (best) local watchmaker to repair (adjust) the hands: 10 eur (still much cheaper than sending it back for warranty)

Now, that I am much smarter, I would have ordered the watch from Amazon, on black rubber (the cheapest one) and buy the Super Oyster from Yobokies (or wjean28).

But I also see why the J version is so rare...

    Ah, and one more thing.

I am not so keen on the Seiko OEM Oyster bracelet that came with the watch, so I ordered one from yobokies anyway. :-/

I anyone is interested in it, I will sell it once the yobokies Super Oyster Evo S comes to my house.

Many thanks, I will keep you all posted. I have been informed by my wife that perhaps I should wait until after my birthday in October to buy so I'm pretty sure I know what to expect for my bday. I will post pics as soon as I get it, it's kinda cool that I don't know which version (metal or rubber) my wife is going to buy me. Saves me from making the decision haha!!

I would personally stay away from any seller with a 97% feedback rating. It doesn't get much more reputable than amazon. It might be a bit more expensive, but you know it will be a smooth transaction.

I'd love to buy from Amazon but every time I've tried they don't ship to Australia 😞
