    Green bezel mod opinion?

I want to build a green bezel insert Sub homage, but out of a Seiko instead -

It's NOT an issue of whether to use an 007 or Sea Urchin as far as the watch it's self mechanically wise, which do you feels A NICER APPEARANCE in your opinion? NOT which looks closer is a better homage, that's a given :), BUT WHICH LOOKS BETTER OF THE TWO to you?

I can't decide, and again I am NOT necessarily trying to replicate the green Sub, I just want a Seiko diver with a green bezel and can't decide between the two. :(

    Thanks -

PS - I do NOT plan to change the dial color also, I want it to remain a green bezel insert with a black dial face.

If we are going strictly off the watch face alone, I'd probably go with the left one. I don't like a busy dial on a dive watch although I'm not sold on the hands.

I vote for the 007. I feel the dial is better looking and a closer match.

Thanks, but again I'm NOT going for a match here, I want to know which of the two does everyone LIKE/LOOKS better in their opinion?

If it were to be going for true homage, the Sea Urchin is the easy, slam dunk answer - again, NOT what I am looking for here, strictly looking for desirable appearance wise from those here? My wife is no help, she says they all look the same to her..................... :(

    Thanks -

If I had an ounce of skill I'd be ordering a 007 right now to do the mod on as it looks great.

I'm kind of leaning that way too only b/c -

    1. The 007 looks different enough while still being based off the idea of the green bezeled Sub idea that it's still different and not trying to be a real "clone" of it.

    2. The 007 is slightly larger (1 mm overall???) than the Sea Urchin (I usually prefer a Sumo or other the Sumo's size as opposed to the traditional 40mm case sizes).

    3. Lord knows there are ENDLESS possibilities of options for modding the 007.

    4. Plus the 007 alone is already a classic in of it's self as it is too. :)

All that said, I still do like the Sea Urchin too, hence my delima. :( I already do have Sumo with an aftermarket bezel insert that is more of the smaller "traditional" Seiko font like found on the 007, Marine Master, and what not, so that covers my need / desire for a black faced / insert watch that is stainless. I also think the Sea Urchin looks great with the "Pepsi" bezel also, and that the red and blue bezel on it is enough to make it look a little less like a traditional Sub clone.

So therefore the green insert on the 007 is making slightly more sense to me for what I already have and giving me more options color / watch wise, but I don't know, I still like the green insert on the Sea Urchin a lot too, and it can be hand wound also.

......................and no, I don't want or have a need for "both" of them, so that's out and God knows I already have ENOUGH of "similar looking" watches as it is I kind of wanted to mix it up a little with slightly different looks/designs and colors too. :)

    Thanks -

Not liking the 007 with the green bezel at all. I think the sea urchin looks great as it is in the pic.
