Picture I seem to be developing an obsession with this Seiko SARD...

    ,

It started with this first picture from an eBay auction.

I was drawn to the red-gold color shown for the hands and the minute ring.

I knew "intellectually" it was a exaggeration, much like many beauty techniques employed by millions every day, but I was attracted nonetheless.

I looked around the web, and while it is not the most loved design, I found other pictures that have fueled my passion!

Here are a couple from a web site "timetokyo":

I too fell in love with it when I came across it on instagram. What I love most is the day/date/PR indicators. Absolutely gorgeous otherwise too!

Well, it's sorta affordable (sorta) so you know how to "cure" the problem once and for all don't you?

Okay, over time this has not gotten better, actually it has gotten twice as bad!!

What I mean is, as I have been researching the gold and brown SARD012, I found out about the blue and white SARD013!!

With it's blue urushi dial and white enameled hands, I think I like this one even more than the SARD012!!

Huge fan of the blue and enameled hands, you should submit to your baser desires and buy one

Oops, looks like someone may be reading my posts!

The Rakuten seller JackRoad had one for sale for US$1800, but now it is marked out of stock, and the same seller suddenly has one on eBay for US$3000!

    Hmmmm....

Not at all my style, but I can see why/how someone could obsess over it. It is indeed beautiful.

Footnote to all: The urushi dial is captivating, it WILL draw you into itself. As if you are looking into the black mass of space. There is something about this fine art that I now can understand. At first I could only explain it as looking into a glass of pure midnight black oil, but somehow it is deeper than that. The only way that I could explain how the dial looks is that it defines the clearest and blackest form of the color black. "Black in it's finest" For those to understand what I'm talking about one must actually see it in person, and only then you will see.
