Look, Sapphire in a Orient Mako cem6500!

Decent very slightly domed AR coated sapphire installed in a Mako! :D
Same crystal as the Seiko Sumo also the same as the 200m Alba divers and a few others too. Sapphire from Yobokies.

Now that I have had a chance to clean out the dust and remove smudges...
More pictures that don't' exaggerate the edge of the crystal so much:

In case you are thinking the sapphire still sticks up to high, neener neener it doesn't stick up quite as far as the stock flat mineral glass!

So many awesome new watches out there, too bad they are all sized for the giant Yeti, when you build a human sized watch I might be interested.

Hmmm. Very interesting. So it is a direct fit, huh? Who did the install, and did you have it pressure tested?

    Looks good, too.

Very cool, extra points for finding it on Yobokies photobucket.

    Me too

It also looks a touch "taller" (over top the bezel) after looking at the pics closer.

It is about the same height at the edges as the original flat glass but the original has beveled polished edges and the sapphire doesn't so it looks different. I installed the crystal and pressure tested it myself.

The pictures also make it appear that the crystal is higher than the bezel but in fact they are almost flush!
