Anything with saw I try to avoid LOL. I can't even handle box opener LOL.

I might think of another way to mount it. But that's pretty good using those foam insulation tube. We always get visited by enbridge to give anway tons of those insulation foam tube LOL

I saw your post last night and thought that looked like a fun project. Hope you don't mind that I stole your basic design to fill my Saturday! I switched it up a little and used an attractive cutting board I found lying around as the base.

Not close to the whole collection, just doing a test run.
Dear WIS, I have seen your watch addiction affect your life negatively in the following ways...

That looks really nice. I like the cutting board; it does add a bit of character :)
I'm just happy that you were inspired by my simple idea. Hopefully your project will grow into something even bigger

It's almost as much fun making these boxes as reviving a vintage movement

Paint a raven? How about a raven carving? I think there's a guy around your parts that can do some pretty good stuff...

If you can believe it, I've still got your page bookmarked from waaaay back in the day on the SCWF. The carvings are just amazing, and the boats blow me away as well. I'm sure throwing together a watch box is child's play for someone with your talents, Pete.

    Thanks Gabe.
I've drawn the pattern and will paint it as soon as it warms up a bit more...

One question. What did you line the bottom with to prvent the bracelet clasps and strap buckles from getting scratched or is that after the finish? I'm assuming felt?

What no dove tails? Just kidding. Your mounting system was the missing piece I was looking for. I have about three watches that have formed straps, plus the oness on mesh have a similar issue. These generally do not fit in any other mounting design, but this will work.

My wife buys dogs and I buy watches and to date I have never stepped in watch poop!
