this 4R16 movements are said to have abt 53hrs of power reserved compare to the 7s26b which has about 46hrs as tested by the yeoman blog. Accuracy wise i will say they are not much different.

The difference between 53 hrs and 46 hrs is substantial, in my opinion. Still, I hoped this would be an "in-between" movement, maybe a cheaper version of the 6R15 or maybe a movement that could be wound but wouldn't hack.

i must say i really like the seiko 24hrs automatic watch. The big white numbers on the strike me and good colour coordiantion of smaller yellow 24hrs. Also the bezel is interesting too. Whats more a new calibre!!

Can anyone fill us in on the true working specs of this movement?

I cant see what we get for the extra or $$$ other than 1 extra jewel and a slightly decorated rotor. This is going to make little if any difference to the performance.
May as well get a watch with the 6r15 and have hand wind and hack.
    Am I missing somthing
Is this just another selling ploy?

I tried it at a local AD and it's quite interesting. I almost pulled the trigger but 21mm strap and unknown movement held me back. But the new designs looks promising.

No, the new movement has better power reserve, and for at least my example, better accuracy/consistancy then most 7s26 that I've read about.

    4R16- initial accuracy
