    Orange Monster

I ordered an Orange Monster from Amazon and it has finally arrived. The cheap plastic box it came in has me wondering if it is authentic or not. It is also a model # SKX781K when everything I've read says SKX781. What does the last k mean SN is 850654. Does it sound real I'd be bummed to get ripped off by Amazon.

    Thanks

Pretty sure it's fine. Besides, what kind of box were you expecting? It's a Monster, not a Spring Drive/GS or something.

If it really concerns you, post some pics. Lots of people on here are real Monster experts and could probably help you spot if it's a possible fake.

    Hey dts,

    a) welcome to this great forum
    b) probably it's not a fake
    c) if you thinks it's a fake, please show some pictures that show the watch
    d) the "K" at the end is quite normal, whatever it means in this case (see photo) below.
    e) enjoy your great watch

    Best regards,
    Sebastian

    Re: Orange Monster

Post a photo, but I doubt very much that it is a fake, for several reasons:

    (1) Gray market sellers often do not ship in a Seiko box (which is just a cheap cardboard box anyway). My two Monsters both came with no box.

    (2) The model no. is legit...some forum members and sellers just leave off the K.

    (3) The Serial No. has the correct number of digits, and indicates your watch was manufactured in May of 2008.

    (4) I've never heard of someone getting a fake when buying through Amazon directly, and even if you bought through a vendor that sells on Amazon, the likelihood of getting a fake is extremely small.

That said, without a photo it is impossible to tell for sure...but my guess is you got the genuine article.

Thanks guys, I guess I was looking for the white Seiko pillow shown in the ad :( Oh well I do love the watch and am really enjoying it so far. My daily wear Omega has some competition.

Forget about Omega (good watches, though)!

You're with the Seiko Crew now...

    boxes are for closets.

anyone ever get the Seiko plastic egg? now that is UGLY!

I'm sure your watch is real. Is it heavy and look killer? Most fakes you know just by picking them up.

Thanks for all the reassurance. I also have an old Seiko Speed Timer and a Premier Kinetic, I like them all, but the Premier does not glow and the old one runs a little fast. The Orange Monster rules.
