    Re: Our common Seiko diary

I wish I had bought one or both of the these two watches back in 1985 when I was in a Seiko dealer in Hong Kong...

...but instead I went on a fantasy search for a Rolex Submariner that I wanted to haggle to 'the right price' and instead ended up with nothing.

My 6 day old Tuna has been on my wrist since I got it (except while actually working). Got in my car after work to drive home today and the watch caught my eye - domed crystal, lots of metal surrounding it - it just struck me as looking like a ship's porthole.

Secondly, noticed some lint on the edge of the rubber strap, like there's a coating on the surface that prevents it from attracting lint like a regular silicone strap but that covering is wearing off on the edges.

Ok think it's probably best I don't mention there's one for sale on the bay.

My Monster was too nice to beat up so I sold it and got a DLC microbrand. That got a wee scratch and I fancied the Turtle, but it's too pretty to beat up on so I got a DB on 40% off. No more watches needed here, no Siree! Maybe another strap or two.

I keep coming back to the GL831 strap for my 6306 and 6309 after trying every conceivable iteration of Bonetto Cinturini and Isofrane, you know what, Seiko actually know what they are doing!

I have a winder of that type as well! They're great, have you tried mixing their by product with hot water? o: It tastes really weird, but good!

In other news, my SKX (featured in the photo) is running +-1s per day, it's been 5s ahead of real time for a couple weeks now. Impeccable.

    Re: Our common Seiko diary

Today I, for the first time in 10 months, didn't wear my SKX. I've decided to test the power reserve somewhat, but I'm hesitant to let it run down since I've sworn to never let it stop! It has ran for ~23h now (the current time is 0:19), so when I pick it up tomorrow it will have run for 30h or so. Hm, it would be quite interesting to try the PR full stop...

Wondering how the hell these scratches on my SNK615 got here. I'm so careful with my watches :(. I have heard that the hardlex in the Seiko 5's isn't as good as that in the Skx, I'm hoping that's true.
