Dropped the SKX from at least 160cm yesterday night onto the floor, ouchhhhhhhhhhh. Not tile floor luckily, but still, that must've been many thousands of G in that impulse, uhu. SKX seems unphased though, can't find any marks or weird noises and it seems to have kept time as usual during the night.

It's losing ~10s per day now, getting worried it might run away even further. Although if it's as a result of the drop seems quite unlikely as in my reasoning it would be a lot worse in either direciton.

    Aw, it's nuthin.
The drop probably caused the speed control needle to turn a bit.
I'd just push it back to where it was, or get a watchmaker to do it.

Someone should fix the quotation notification on this forum, this is really beneath criticism..

Anyway, today I saw, lo and behold, TWO SKX's at the university! One 009 and one 007. I showed them mine.

    Re: Our common Seiko diary

Went to my local watchsmith today, apparently he has began selling Seikos! Finally saw the SRP777 in person, it was really nice, smooth strap. He had already sold two of them.
Put my 14 months old SKX on his timegrapher and the numbers were absolutely fantastic! I'm not sure about the lift angle but the grapher was set to 52 I think. 280° amplitude, 0.0-0.1ms beat error and -4spd. If the lift angle is 53 then (I'm not sure about the math here whatsoever) perhaps the amplitude is closer to 275° (280*(52/53) (perhaps a trigonometric function is involved here but whatever)). Still, very happy with the results!

Did Ya Ever Notice...that when you see a cool watch from a microbrand that you've never heard of before in a WRUW today thread, that if you go to the manufacturer's web site, that usually it, and often all of there their other models as well, is out of stock?

I saw a Hexa in yesterday's WRUW, and it was the usual story.

Where is the current design genius at Seiko? Do Seiko have a 21st century Ikuo Tokunaga or is it a case of design by committee and selecting from yesterday's hit's?
