I just got a SARZ005. It's a nice watch. Glad that I got it now. Didn't know it's relevant enough to be on the list of informing that it is discontinued.

The Cocktail Time has been produced since 2011; Seiko stopped producing the other main watch in the Cocktail Time series (SARB066 "Dry") soon after the debut, and the SARB068 Cocktail Time (the "Sweet") was a limited edition. The three Grand Cocktails (SDGM001-to-SDGM003) that debuted in 2015 are also no longer being produced.

Given that the Cocktail Time has been produced for six years, it's no surprise that this version is being retired and will likely be replaced by the Presage SARY075. Whether or not this is a good decision is a different matter entirely, and depends on whether you already have one as well as whether or not you are a Seiko shareholder.

I bought an 065 in January. I like it a lot. I will say that if the new model has an updated or improved movement I would pay more for it. I really like the watch and its retro-cool Japanese style. An update with a cool movement would be tuff to resist.

Actually I love what Seiko is doing now. It has been always confusing to non-WIS what watch they are buying.. they don't have model name neither the range name. If they just name Seiko and then charge $300 and then $600 and then $900 without differentiating on the dial it becomes too confusing and then every watch will have day-date and Automatic on the dial. At least now they should differentiate a 'Presage', 'Prospex', 'Brightz', 'Galante', Sportura etc just by looking at the watch.

I just want to see the SNZH line (or something similar, a diver with the hardlex bezel at any rate) with a newer movement. It has to happen eventually, but Seiko sure is taking its time rolling out the hacking and handwinding.

My brain is telling me to scoop one up before they become another grossly overpriced discontinued model due to supply/demand. I almost bought one last night but keep being reminded of why I have not bought one to this date; Love the dial and crystal, but the plain and thick looking case leaves me cold. If only it had a 033/035 or SDGM case it would easily win my heart (and my money)!

I agree, that model is stunning in looks alone. If Seiko dropped the 5 sports branding and gave it some prospex love (200M WR, upgraded lume, lumed bezel pip, etc.) it would be submariner killer! Well okay, maybe not THAT epic, but it would certainly elevate the model to where it deserves to be. Upgraded movement, sapphire, and ceramic lumed bezel would be appreciated too, and I wouldn't be upset if they had a white dialed version in titanium.
