Question Purchasing a watch overseas from USA (Citizen AS4035-04e)

I've been pining over the AS4035-04e for months now, ever since I saw Mitch100's post on it. I live in California and unfortunately, this model is available only in Europe and/or Asia. I'm seriously considering just purchasing it and foregoing the radio syncing functionality but wanted to know what WUS would suggest as the best place to source it? I did some searching and found this as the cheapest:

Citizen Promaster Field Black Eco-Drive Radio Controlled Titanium AS4035-04E

Does anyone have any experience with NeWatch they could share with me, or suggest a better place to purchase? Also, any tips/things to consider when purchasing items overseas? I've never bought anything outside the US before.

    Much appreciated.

I am in the exact same spot - even from Ca. I fell in love with this watch and spent many hrs trying to find the model number here. I wish I had the answer to your question. However, I don't and am ready to go a bit of a different
direction with a Seiko SDNA65 which is similar in looks to the Citizen AS4035.

Good luck - hopefully someone will be able to help.

I researched more about the Spanish co. Newatch.com and they look like they have been in business since 1998 and have a brick and mortar store. They have a facebook page which has a few shots of the store front. Whether this makes it legit or not is still debatable. The main thing that I didn't like was the "no tax/shipping included in price" It appears there is at least a 16% tax and who knows what shipping would be. That 402 euro price jumps to 466 euros plus shipping which is approx. $633 plus shipping if my conversion is correct.

update: I registered at their site, and added the watch to my cart and the total only came to 423 Euros (just the watch and shipping) so there might not be the 16% tax....

I think forum member 'Parzival' used this site to purchase his AS4035-04E. You could PM him to check out his experience with them.

I think you are fine with this dealer and it is a great price, even with the tax add-ons, when you consider the retail price for this watch is 650 euros.

Since no thread should be without a picture here is a photo to keep you going.

you had to post that pic again!!! that's one fine watch. I chickened out and went with the Seiko SNDA65.

If OP does go through with NeWatch, hopefully we will find out how it went.

kknight - thanks for doing the research on NeWatch! I found out pretty much the same as you about the store before I posted but I really appreciate you taking the time to look into it.

Mitch100 - thanks for the referral to Parzival. I will PM him and see what his experience was. Like you said, either way it's a great price at 422 euros shipped.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger soon. I will report back with a review and plenty of photos once I receive the watch.

You're welcome! I was/am as interested as you in this watch. I am just a little apprehensive in their method of pmt. I couldn't find a direct way to pay with Visa on their site and that bothered me. I guess you could use paypal and pay with Visa but I would have preferred not using Paypal if possible.

Yeah, I think I will pay through Paypal and use my credit card, just for added security.
