Removing link in Seiko 5 Jubilee bracelet

Anyone have a good site or advice on how one can remove links on a Seiko 5 Jubilee bracelet? Just got a Seiko 5 SNX89K Automatic. Looks like a nice watch but having trouble sizing it correctly. I am sure it is simple but having trouble right now.

Any help or www sites that explain the process would be most appreciated.

    Thank you.

Everything you need to know should be in this link:

If it is straight split pin, this should get it through. I don't think the Jubilee has the pin & collar links like the Monster; if it does, follow the link shown. If you have the right tools, this should not be much of a job. A word of warning: no matter what kind of link pins are in the watch strap, should you choose to do it your self, do it on a table & put something under your work area like a 24" X 24" white rag. If something pops out while you are working, there's nothing worse than being on your hands & knees looking for a lost pin/collar etc. in the rug! If you aren't sure, take it to a watchmaker/jeweler & let them do it.

Good luck & let us know how you make out!

Re: Removing link in Seiko 5 Jubilee bracelet

Thank you very much for this link. I must admit that I was pressed for time so walked to a local watch repair store near my office - he did it for $6. So, in short, I took the easy way out. I really appreciate the post however - I am just too busy and not handy enough. I like the watch but think the bracelet is a bit light and makes the watch seem a little cheap. The movement, face, and case seem very solid. I think I am going to ask the board about band alternatives to this model.

    Thanks again.
