    Seiko 7548-700B arrived!

    It's a Seiko quartz diver 7548-700B from October 1979.

The same model was worn by General Norman Schwarzkopf.

His watch was auctioned under the title "SEIKO Desert Storm" and sold at USD 11,000.

Here is mine. All original but the crystal. There are some tiny nicks and scratches here and there and slightly faded bezel insert, but overall it's in great condition. Nice vintage look already.

I started taking some pics and found a lint at between 52 and 53min.

So, I removed the movement from the case and blew the dust off. It came with a XL rubber strap. As it's a bit large for my wrist, I put a jubilee bracelet for now.

Sorry about some dust on the crystal.

    Next to the 7C43-7010.

    Caseback

Another shot. No dust this time lol.

    I'm very happy with it.

    Thanks for looking!

I'm assuming you won the auction. Nice historical piece. Just got my first SKX pepsi diver as well; it's a totally different and sportier look.
The more time I spend here, the more watches magically appear in the mailbox (incoming).

Interesting that the auction site stated he wore two watches, one on each arm. One set to DC time and the other to Saudi time.

Sounds like he needed a GMT watch.

Nice watch and I like the historical aspect.

    Thanks Jimmy!

I guess I should email General some pics of her lol. I couldn't capture the nicely aged creamy markers, lume pip and hands though.

BTW, what's the difference between the 700B and the 700F Jimmy?

    Re: Seiko 7548-700B arrived!

    Hi Hiro,

Well, it's been awhile since I had them all together, but I think the only real difference between the two is the day date wheels with various languages used, and maybe the color or shade of blue each is

I haven't had my 700B in about a year or 18 months now, but it had a really dark blue dial, in light you could notice the blue hue. My 700F is a lighter shade of blue as compared to my old 700B.

These are both export models as are the other SQ branded 7548 models.
They did have a twin pepsi brother and other models in the family back in Japan which don't have the SQ fonted dial's, but rather use the water 150m resist text and have the Kanji/English day date wheels.

Here's my NOS 7548-700F, with original 22mm GL-831 rubber strap:

lol, Send the General a email & see what he says...Salute!

    Regards,
    Jim

Thanks for the info Jimmy! Your 7548-700F is in super NOS condition!

As for the rubber strap, it's almost impossible to find an original GL-831 these days.

So, I might pick up one of those even though I'm not sure what they are.
