    yes.....

i think it is the same for Seiko

other lower cost seiko divers will always sell more.
those at be low 500 will always sell a lot more

the Transocean is 1k .... once you hit this price range... a lot of other options from other swiss brands

I am monitoring grey market sales in Japan and the Transocean gets sold brand new for around 750$ and used for less, even the LE white and black. Huge price drop in the spring drive version as well, sells for less than 2k brand new while used Spring drives sell for more. Not too many buyers either.

    Re: Seiko Transocean... Sales dud??

I totally missed this watch when it first came out. Having read through this thread, now I totally want the blue-dial three-hander. I even like the integrated bracelet -- I think it works in this case because it gives the watch an interesting design and silhouette.

For me, the main turnoff is the price. As noted repeatedly in this thread, Seiko just has too many other good diver options for the Transocean to look competitive at $1k. But, if I could get that blue one for $750... that would tempt me a lot. Seiko knows how to do blue dials, that's for sure.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I own the black TO with rose gold and and quite happy with it. The shape looks a lot like the Oris Aquis to me, which a lot of people in the Oris forum adores. The seiko is using a lower-grade movement, but its also several hundred bucks cheaper. Anybody own or have handled both? How would you compare them?
