Price is the big factor here. Paying around $1000 for 21,600bph movement doens't justify it and also many here points out the integrated bracelet is a big turn off. Most of us here love changing straps.

The TransOcean is definitely a good looker....
    2 main complains are
    1. Movement and Price not justified ... a 28,800bph would had been better at the price OR the addition of a Day + Date
    2. The lugs..... makes Alternative strap a total gonner for many Seiko wearer?

I believe the main reason why it is not seeling well is the price.... the GMT verion cost double~! but the movement is a SPring Drive after all.
The Chronograph verion 8R49 movement .... slice off the complain on complication and movement... but then pple will complain on the size being too bulk compared to Astron which is slick.

Real TRUE : Any Seiko that cost above US$1k + NOT a Limited Edition is always a slow mover.

I really like the Transocean....but now i only(try) buy watch to pair up with my wife.... so the cost is heavy.
if they launched a white face white bezel chronograph ....THAT would be a real burner to my mind and wallet

but will the bigger chronograph be too big for wife? :(

oh......the bezel being secure by 2 screws right? THAT is my only real complain other then cost LOLx

Nice looking watch but I wouldn't pay the $1000 they want for it. Doesn't look too much different than a lot of cheaper Seiko divers, I'm my opinion.

I'd buy the spring drive titanium Transocean but not this one. Too heavy and mediocre movement for the money.

    Seiko Transocean... Sales dud??

If there was a limited edition 40mm model, I'd buy it for $1000. Okay, maybe $700 on deep discount with favorable exchange rate.

Crafter Blue should put out a rubber strap for this one, they'd make a killing

Agreed; I know the Transocean is quite a bit higher than normal Prospexes in terms of build, materials and finish, but the 6R15 still doesn't warrant that kind of money. This watch should have contained a day-only variant of the 6R20, or at the very least, a 'premium' 6R15 that is adjusted and inspected by a human.

I like the blue dial/black bezel model, but the integrated bracelet and price make it a poor value proposition in my opinion. The all ceramic bezel is interesting, but not enough to price it above the [already lofty $$$] titanium shogun.
