Showing off a GS find. Seiko G757 digital

Hi list, I just got to show off. I hit a garage sale this weekend with my wife and she said "Can you use this?" and showed me this pre owned but nearly NOS Seiko G757-405A in the original box. It was priced $5. The guy said he had received it as a gift years ago when it was new and never wore it because he thought digital watches look cheap!

Similar models are called James Bond style and I was wondering if any one could fill me in as to which models (or model) can legitimately be called a James Bond?

    Thanks, Tom

The Seiko Roger Moore wore in Octopussy was a G757 100 Sports. So, it has the same movement as the one you got.

It is, indeed, in mint + condition! Really great find! You owe your wife a dinner, my friend.

It is awesome timepiece! Wear it in the best of health . . .

I wonder what the case material is. CRP is not a designation I have seen before.

Chrome plated SS or base metal is my best guess, but I don't have any idea. Anyone know for sure?

I'm familiar with SHA (super hard alloy) and GHA (gold hard alloy), but not CRP.

With a manufacture date of June, 1981, Seiko was experimenting with many different case compositions. My SHA dates to '83.
