    Snow Monster

"The Seiko Snow Monster is one of the watches in the Seiko Monster Diver Collection. This collection features water resistance 200 meters diver’s watches in 7 colors: Black, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, Prince Monster (in Pink Gold and Black), and the 2011 version in White. The Snow Monster is a 2555 unit limited edition designed by Mr.Satoru Monjugawa. The clean and cool colors were inspired by snow in the beautiful winter in Japan covered by clear blue sky."

    I want one!

I've only seen a few on ebay, if I had the $1200 or so, one would be mine, strictly on how coveted these collectible monsters, almost a sure thing to increase, IMHO. Wish I had the green one too.

Too nice not to wear, so a poor deal for someone like me @ $1000ish. I'd never be able to leave it sealed long enough to realize a + return on it in a few years. I love it, and I'm not really a Monster fan.

This is very cool. the cyclops is not and would keep me from getting it. Maybe somebody can make a mod like this. I would be very temped to get it as long as it did not have the cyclops.

Cost too much, even for a limited edition. Besides, I don't consider 2,555 copies "limited".

I'll go for a MOD instead. Paging Harold!!! :)

I agree. It looks great but its way out of my price range.

I've actually been thinking about something like this for a while. Swap the dials between a SZEN006 and SKX781. Can SZEN006 dials be easily sourced? It's a nicer dial than the stailness monsters IMO, with the black borders around the indices.

FWIW, I am not a big fan of the blue on this one or the cyclops.

    Re: Snow Monster

I like, but would never pay that for it. I have the Orange, McDonalds, Green, Yellow, and the Blue - 2 of them I actually think are pretty ugly and were just impulse buys. I'd trade my blue one for this in a heartbeat - the blue with the red in the bezel is awful. Same with the McDonalds monster - why did I ever think I would wear a red and yellow watch? The Yellow one had red accents, but works so much better.

Anyway, this white one would certainly have a spot in my regular rotation, but it has no business costing that much. Just like the "Prince" Monster deal that I see re-listed on the bay every week for $1500 - no one is buying it, so it's probably time to re-think the pricing methodology. Put a 5R65 in it and then we're talkin!

I agree, for the price it should have a lot more going for it, movement, WR, etc.

I love my Monsters just as much as the rest of you guys, but.............This one is cool looking but ultimately IT'S STILL JUST A MONSTER!! I like it but not for 10 times the cost of a regular Monster!!! Limited Edition of 2555 isn't really that limited either!

Exactly, they are limited in looks but not in function. Were they 600 or 1000m watches and limited that would be something... except for the limited lettering and, uh... the authenticity... a modder could make a pretty damn similar watch.

Its a very beautiful looking watch.

    But that PRICE.....EEEKKK! :)

Maybe the colored ones should be 300-400...but 1200USD, come on!

    Re: Snow Monster

I definately second the too expensive and not that limited notion.
Got a few Vostok Europe'sand they make usually 3000 of each, which are kinda limited being numbered an all, but hardly exclusive, and don't command these kind of prices.
I do agree that this is stunning though.
I have been kinda collecting Mini Monsters, along witha few others on here, now have White, red, green, black dialled TiCN plated, and blue dialled and yellow dialled on the way. And i reckon all together they all cost me roughly the same as some are asking for just this Snow Monster.
If any one comes up with a mod to get a regular monster even close to this though i reckon they'll be on to a winner.

    Re: Snow Monster

Guys be careful with this one I live in Thailand and the ADs all seem to have three or four of these Snow Monsters and they are not moving . In fact most will give 20% + discount, in my mind the first clue that the price for a limited edition is wrong.

Lets be fair for the price where is the money going .. Pure and simply greed.... based on marketing of 2555 units . Yellow limited to 300, that is Collectable.... 2555 units !! come on Seiko get real

Nice watch but with a sapphire, 7s26 variation and 2555 !!! of them and not much else .. .Come on Seiko dont take the piss collectors are not "that " stupid and with 2555 how many collectors are there that will pay that price ..EVER.

In my opinion it is milking the market and ADs will pass that on to Seiko when they dont sell. We can pass it on by not being mugs and paying for it . The choice at a 1000 USD + why would anyone buy this watch it will not increase in value and ...

    1... too many of them

2... 10 x more money than standard monster to start with

3... Standard Monster with sapphire and nothing else ( no real upgrade to justify cost )

4.. Result not worth the money financial loss for 1st buyer

    Conclusion

Nice watch but Not collectable at all.

    Re: Snow Monster

1200USD is putting it in the realms of other much better watches ( in terms of movement, WR etc..)
Don't get me wrong, the Monster is a great watch, but 1200USD is asking too much for a watch not worth that price!
