Here's another NOS Orient from Thailand. Advertised as "from around the 80's". For Real! What do you all think?

FAKE!!!!!!!!!
"Water Proof" instead of "Water Resist"
"Orient" logo looks wrong... "Japan Made" gimme a break!
Looks like a cannibalized Mako movement/dial stuck into another watch case....
I am thinking that the case might be from a genuine Beast, although I don't remember any gold trimmed models and the crown is not the same. Pictures from Dan the WIS (who are you, are you still around ??)

Looks like a fun one! The bezel sure looks like from the Beast, the dial italic font looks original, and hands look too modern for an 80s...but the caliber seems legit, a 469 movement, presentation back.....
It could be legit (quite a few special models made in Thailand) ..or if it could be won cheap enough, I'd get it! haha! Instead of thinking it a Fake, consider it a cool TUNA like MOD!![]()
Nah, I think the movement is fake also...at least everything other than the rotor. Every Orient movement I have seen has an "Orient" stamp under the balance wheel.
I think the dial is the most concerning because it is obviously an attempt to make a Mako dial. The hands are possibly fake, at least the second hand is because the original has more of a fan shape on the tail where as this one is straight.

Very interesting. Have you emailed him about it's authenticity
Have fun with it! I know you would.

I am familiar with the seller, and I've never seen any fakes on his site, but quite a bit of stuff with replacement parts, refinished dials, etc. Here's what it should look like:

Meine Bratwurst has a first name,
It's F-R-I-T-Z,
Meine Bratwurst has a second name,
It's S-C-H-N-A-C-K-E-N-P-F-E-F-F-E-R-H-A-U-S-E-N
Why would anyone work so hard to make a fake watch that is so inexpensive? There would be a very small profit margin if any. Just curious.
I like the design direction. If Orient actually made the Beast Mako (Bako?), I'd buy it (not a fan of the Beast, granted I never saw one live).
