    Would a 6105-8000 crown fit on a 6309?

Would a crown from a 6105-8000 diver fit onto a 6309? I'm told that unlike the 6309's screw down crown, the 6105 has some form of a turn and lock mechanism. Can anyone confirm? And if so, is there a way to get it to transplant?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

The 6105s do tend to use a locking mechanism it's basically a steel pin nothing special really more of a gimmick.

No. The 6105-8000 crown is neither screw-down nor locking. Its water resistance is imparted simply by virtue of the o-ring slipping over the crown tube as you push the crown in. The 6309's are all screw-down and the later 6105-8110 is push in and rotate to 'lock'. In fact the locking mechanism on the later 6105 does nothing more than prevent the crown from rotating by butting up against a pin on the case.

    Hope that helps
    Martin
