Look like things are proceeding great. Can't wait.

We haven't definitely decided on the dial color, but 296 seems to be the more popular choice.

Pantone 296. It gives the watch that distinctive classic look.

Mitch:Looking good.Comments on the drawing:1. The blacker the blue the better.2. Definitely favor florescent on the minute hand: Orange or the red, depeding on what pops best with the blue of the dial, blacker, orange, blue'r red, IMHO.Going to be an amazing piece.

I know I may be going against the grain here, but I'm for a slightly lighter shade of blue (lighter than extremely dark blue) for the dial, with the most fluorescent orange that you can find for the minute hand. I think that would give a very impressive effect.

Also, I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm hoping for a black on silver datewheel. It's a very classy touch!

Re: LM-7 (PloProf) design thread 4

Hi Mitch, My first post on this subject. First I have to say that I look forward with MUCH anticipation to the day LM-7 #61 arrives at my door. Everything looks excellent and there has been a great exchange of ideas in these design threads. I think one great idea may have slipped through the cracks. I've copied this quote from LM-7 design thread 3 page 2 #38.

    Can this be done Mitch?

    Cheers,
    Karl

"And while we are on the subject of material, why not Kolsterise the SS parts of the watch case?
Kolsterising is a surface treatment that produces a very hard scratchproof surface on Austhenitic stainless steel. Sinn watches use this techology but they call it Tegimented (and claim that they invented it ).
    for more info http://bodycote.com/?OB=60&POB=69&ID=102
This project is looking really good and i am looking forward to the end result.

I asked about hardening the steel case, but I don't think it is something we will be able to do at this time.

We will use a black on white date wheel.

I like it better that way. It works perfectly with the markers and doesn't get lost in the dial color.

    LM-7 Tentative Production Schedule

October 30 - finish first sample case

November 20 - previous three weeks for testing and discussion of possible changes

November 30 - final sample for Swiss assembly and testing, marketing, photography, etc. Production of blanks begins (if the first sample is close to what we want, we can start production of the blanks around October 30, saving time).

December 5 (or earlier) - blanks finished, ready for full production.

    January 30 - cases finished

February 15 - all parts including dial, hands, etc., finished and sent to Switzerland for assembly and testing.

February 28 - watches delivered and ready to ship to customers

I asked for a conservative, worst case schedule, and that's what this is. I'm certain that blank production can start after the first sample because no major changes will be made to the size of the case, or the construction methods. Of course if we have issues with any of the construction methods or components, that could delay production.

By the way, we will offer a desk stand for this watch, similar to the one sold by B&R. It will be available in brushed and pvd finishes, and it should easily be ready by the time the watch ships. I don't have pricing on this yet.
