I admit I prefer a constant width bracelet - better balance for a heavy watch. Its ok if the bracelet tapers, but only by 2mm at most - if it tapers from 24 to 20mm, it would be too much. Just my opinion.

Lots of dive watches.
If you're wearing your LM1 like myself, you will be able to turn you arm 90 deg and look. On the LHS, the bezel hangs over by just a little bit (maybe 1 mm). The RHS does too, but the crown is protruding outside the line of the bezel by 2mm or so.
I think this overhang makes for much easier turning of the bezel in the water.
I've not got my LM1 wet yet, but i do agree with a chunky bezel with good grip.
I believe this LM1 bezel will be super easy to turn with gloves on and don't see a problem with bezels that overhang a bit as it does make them very easy to turn.
I did though have a problem years ago with a Russian dive watch that i caught on a car door, that had an overhanging bezel that poped off rolled down the road and dropped into a drain!! Needless to say i didn't bother going after it.
This LM1 bezel though hanging over only does so by .65 of a mm and i doubt very much could get caught enough to pop off.
So my point here is, significant hang-over equals potential to get caught where small hang-over does not.
I have had no experience of the Marathon TSAR but suspect if it was a problem we would have heard about it long before now.
Regards. Carl.
I like the protruding better also. It gives more style and aesthetism to the design.
This post may be slightly off-topic for this thread but here goes anyway… I recently participated in the LM-7 serial number auction on behalf of Freedom Is Not Free (http://www.freedomisnotfree.com/). In the mail last night I received a package from them including a very nice letter, a great looking baseball cap, other goodies and a certificate of appreciation referencing the Ocean7 LM-7 and my serial number. More importantly, they included a copy of their latest newsletter. This organization is helping out the best and bravest who have sacrificed on our behalf and their loved ones.
I wanted to publicly thank Mitch for incorporating this worthy cause into his business. Of course, I am happy to get the serial number I did but even more, I feel really good about supporting this organization. Thanks again Mitch for giving me the little push I needed to help out Freedom Is Not Free.

I also was blown away by the very nice gift package from Freedom is not Free. Very nice that the Certificate of appreciation was to Arthur Ocean7 Serial #6 Auction.
Mitch, kudos to you for your support of this great organization.

Great lume shots Colin. Love those lumed PloProf bezels, (especially the "lit up" minute track!)
If the sapphire "cap" Mitch idea proves feasible the LM-7 bezel will be Mitch's piez de resistance.
