Thanks, Mike. No bother, this is a lot of fun. The fluorescent orange color on an original PloProf hand may be Pantone 804C. The dial factory has to order the color for us. They don't have any on hand to use for sample production. Maybe Doxa uses that color, too. I'm not sure.

    Hi Mitch,
I am absolutely stoked about this LM-6!

What I was unaware of, until the recent LM-3 posts, was the issue of lume brightness
caused by the various colors of Superluminova.

Will you be using the "Stealth Lume" on the LM-6?

I am struggling with this issue...despite Colin's excellent thoughts on the "H3 dial" thread.
WISes are very particular about the brightness of lume, and I fear that I fall into
the camp of more is better.

Being such an important factor to WISes, I was surprised to only find out about
it until recently. If you have already committed to the "Stealth Lume" would
you be able to add "Seiko Lume" to a future order to give us a choice?

    Re: LM-6 sample pictures

Hi Joseph. I tend to agree with Colin. It matters more to some here than to most non-WIS types. I would not call it "Stealth Lume" because of the bad history conjured by that nickname based on the actions of another manufacturer.

I charged the LM-3 prototype which uses C3, and a production watch using C1, under a light for 60 seconds. They are both glowing after two hours, but the prototype is much better. The production model looks much better with white lume, though. We knew what would happen when we switched to C1. We may be able to apply a thicker coating, but the returns diminish as it thickens, so I would not expect a major improvement.

The LM-6 dials have not yet been made. We we can switch to C3, but I hesitate to do that because I think white looks so good, and I don't think green looks good on orange and yellow dials.

    Opinions?

    Mitch,

Despite the poor lume on my LM-3 I don't think it would look right with C3. I tend to feel the LM-6 would be the same, just would not look right with C3. There is always going to be trade offs when designing or manufacturing anything, my opinion is I would rather have the poor lume as opposed to the green tinted C3.

I agree Mitch. While the LM-3 lume doesnt hold up to the LM-1, it works good enough for me (better then some others I have). And the daylight aesthetics of the dial are more important imho. I would keep the C1 for colored dials - the C3 looks good against a black dial like the LM-1.

I agree with both of you. Steve, maybe C3 on black and C1 on the other colors isn't a bad idea.

I don't know what other options available to us. I will speak with the manufacturer tomorrow.

That sounds the best of both worlds if it's possible... I think with an option of black with C3 for those who want big lume and C1 on the coloured dials should keep everyone happy

    Hi Mitch,

I remember several months ago you mentioned the possibility of getting C1 that glows blue. It sounded similar to what Citizen uses. Any chance something like this could be used?
