    Basel 2011 Thread For Oris

This year I am at home minding the store, and my brother Russ is at the Show. He had his Oris Appointment today, and I thought I'd include some pictures he sent from the booth in a post. What do you guys think of the new stuff? (excuse the image quality). I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet, so forgive me if the information on these watches is a little spotty. I'll get follow up information as soon as I can.

First watch that looks really cool to me is this new aviation chronograph.

This watch is the only one of the group that's already out. This shipped to the store last week. This is the BC4 Retrograde Day 42mm.

This is the last new Aviation watch I have pictures of. Its a Hours Minute Seconds watch with instrument style hands. Details coming soon.

What appears to be a new small second Diver with a brushed bezel. Can't wait to find out more about what the bezel is made out of on this one, and if it's a similar limited edition to the Great Barrier Reef.

This watch doesn't appear to have been ready as a Basel sample, and there doesn't appear to have been color on the page... but it looks like there will be a new case new bracelet dive watch in blue (ending in 55) and black (54) that will have a ceramic bezel. This is called the Oris Diver C Date. The watch is listed at 43mm, and it appears that the bezel is the same width as the case, which is a departure from the current TT1 diver and Titan C small second watches. It appears that this watch is slated to have a U.S. retail of $1,550 on a strap and $1,700 on a bracelet.
Compare this case to the existing 42mm divers.

A Carlos Coste Limited Edition is back! Here is spec sheet from the book and a live shot below. I believe from the picture this will be a 46mm and it has a tenative U.S. retail of $4,350. It does not appear to have the type of locking bezel system that is featured on the pro-diver & pro-diver, Pro-diver Chronograph, and Col Moschin Limited edition of 2010.

This Maldives Limited Edition appears to be a similar concept to the Great Barrier Reef and probably is associated with a new charity, and takes advantage of this new 43mm case that is flush to the bezel. $2,450 on rubber and $2,650 on a metal band. A sample doesn't appear to have been ready in time for the show.
Compare to the Great Barrier Reef. http://topperjewelers.com/watches/oris/greatBarrierReef

Well hopefully this will be a start to get the 2011 discussion going. We will be taking pre-orders on everything as always. and some models may take a little time to learn the exact retail prices. Thanks for reading! We will do our best to get the U.S. market ETA's and more information as it becomes available.

I like the new ORIS Diver C date 43mm.
It must be look bigger than the Diver date if the bezel is same width of the case.

    Come on Oris!!
    What is wrong with them.
I used to like almost anything they came up with, but there is nothing to like so far.
The watches are or too big, too dull, too breitling, too expensive (over 4k for a valjoux 7750, 2,5k for a small sec. 1,5 k for diver date, come on!)
oh well, maybe the real life pics can convince me?

Not a fan of the crown protection. Looks like the crown guard on my old Tissot Seastar.

Re: Basel 2011 Thread For Oris

I'm a little disappointed to be honest, none of these look better than Oris's 2009/2010 line up. I was hoping for a new reasonably priced (~$2000) Diver Chronograph too :(

    Have: C.W. Malvern C5, Lum-Tec M23, O7 LM-5, O.S. Classic (White), Oris Diver Date (Blue), Seagull 819.319, Seiko: SNZH53 & SNZH57 & OM, TAG Heuer AR Chronotimer.
    Grail: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms

Re: Basel 2011 Thread For Oris

I really like the X1 chrono and the Swiss Hunter Team LE....both are very nice and i wouldnt mind owning one or both. I also like that the watch faces are getting larger because I have and 8 inch wrist and 38, 40, 43mm faces look puny on me...46 47 49mm on me look really good. There are a ton of new 43mm case size watches out there that are beautiful but not a lot of 46 to 49 or larger.

I like the black and orange color combos alot and love the BC4 Retrograde. I wish they made that in a 46 or 47mm case size.

Re: Basel 2011 Thread For Oris

I am disappointed that they continue to print "Water Resistant" on the dial on most of their Divers. It is unnecessary clutter. The rating in meters is all that they need.

Less is more. I want better from Oris. I don't expect it but I will welcome it, if it comes...

I have to agree I rarely look forward to seeing what new line up Oris has coming out anymore.
i remember six years ago in 05, i was looking to buy a Swiss watch, and my uncle asked me "what are good watch brands to you?" and all I could name was Rolex. Then he pulled out his lap-top and showed my the Oris website and i was in love, with every watch line they carried I could not find one that I didn't like. They have really strayed since those days which is what has exposed me to other watch brands.
