Oris Divers Small Date as an everyday watch?

    Hi all,

Long time lurker here so thought it was time I joined!

Got a big birthday coming up and I'm going to treat myself to a nice watch for it. I've been looking around at a few watches and I have finally found one I fell in love with - the Orange Divers Small Date!

I'm a fairly big guy and have 8.25" wrists so I was after a big watch (I currently wear a Citizen Skyhawk) and the size of this seems to be perfect but I have a question:

Does anybody here wear one of these as an everyday watch? Things like in the office and that kind of thing? If I buy this watch I very much want to do this, I wear double cuff shirts with cufflinks at work so hopefully the thickness won't be too much of a problem (in the pic below I was pulling the cuff tight to show myself the watch thinkness). What do you think?

I tried a few others but to be honest they felt a little bit small on me, I tried:
    Oris Divers Date
    Longines Hydroconquest (Black)

I'd be interested in your feedback, thanks!

Hi, I have Oris Der Meisterstraucher, which is a similar piece . I love mine and yours is a beauty as well. It is a rather large watch and it is difficult to wear with a dress shirt as it gets caught under the cuff. With your double cuffs, you might have more room. This is not a "dress watch" per se; but rather a "divers" watch. I usually wear it with sport or short sleeve shirts, ( shows off better that way ) That being said, for your big birthday, go for it if you love it!! , that is the most important thing

I work in an office setting as well but don't go as far as cuff links with double cuffs. I have the barrier reef which I believe is the same size @ 47mm but wears a little smaller b/c of the shape of the tapering case. IMO the dive watches aren't commonly worn with dress attire, but I alternate 2 oversized divers everyday. I'm not at all concerned with what is appropriate to wear as long as I dig it. My vote is go for it. It's a great timepiece and will look awesome in a dress environment.

I wear a 44mm Titan C as my every day watch. Not as big as the watch above, but I only have 7.25" wrists

Thanks everybody for all your replies, all very encouraging! red_dave that looks pretty smart doesn't it, just how I'll be wearing it so thanks for the pic!

I like the philosophy of "If I like it then I'm going to wear it" so I think I'll be living by that and buying this watch

Do it. Oris divers just plain rock. Big? Sure, but you're a big guy. I've got three: A 47mm Regulator, 47mm blue Small Seconds, and 47mm Titan Chrono. I love them all... and you will, too.

Only drawback would be weight. Most of the others mentioned in the thread are Titanium while yours is stainless steel. It might not be too big for you, but it might get heavy in a hurry.
