Question on Places to buy AND...the weight of an Oris Regulator DM??

    Hi Guys,

I'm brand new to the forum and have been spending a bit of time reading up on watches that are on my hit list as I'm looking to build my collection....

The Oris Reg DM's are stunning in my opinion, and I am VERY close to pulling the trigger on one via a guy that is selling them new on E-Bay UK
    - His trading name is oneballking on E-Bay UK and he is based in Taiwan - he has almost 200 perfect feedback from selling mostly Oris's, so although I'd prefer to buy in the UK, I'd feel safe with this guy.

Anyway....my two main watches are a Quartz Omega Seamaster Pro (full-size) and a new Tag Heuer Autavia re-issue. Both are stainless, and both have a decent amount of weight to them as they have bracelets fitted (which is what I would want to wear the Oris with mostly)

The Tag weighs in at 165 grams and the SMP weighs about 150 grams.

I like a watch with a decent bit of weight to it to be honest.

I know the whole point of Titanium is strength and lightness of weight, but how much do these Oris TT1 Regulators weigh (approx.) - are they real feather-weights, or is there some decent weight to them still??

Also - any recommendations on other options on where to purchase (by PM if needs be) - I'm based in the UK but have no issues on buying from overseas if the dealer/seller is reputable - either new or 2nd hand??

    Thanks and with Best Regards,

    David

Re: Question on Places to buy AND...the weight of an Oris Regulator DM??

    hi there
im based in the uk, notts to be precise and i have just
    purchased an oris regulator dm.
i have had it for about 3 weeks now, superb watch and the
weight is not an issue, it comes up quite light and more so
if you fit the rubber strap. i bought mine from the usa brand new
via ebay if you are buyin from abroad just be careful of import
duty if you get stung it can work out expensive, get the seller
    to mark as a gift.
another thing to note about the regulator is the puzzlement
on peoples faces when they look at the watch and try to
work out what the time is..priceless
    hope this helps
    regards
    andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for response - can I ask where you brought yours from then? Did you specifically ask them to package it as a "gift" or did they do this automatically for you?? Or are you speaking from experience of getting stung by our lovely Customs people??

Many Thanks and thanks again to jwrussell for the pm and the link!!

    Rgds,

    David.
