Deporte vs. 32 Degrees - a comparison by Gigfy

I finally got my new divers. I am very pleased with the overall quality of these guys. The Deporte is powered by the ST16 movement and the 32 Degrees have the Miyota 8205. BTW, what is the difference between the 8215 and the 8205 anyway?

The 32 Degrees divers are HUGE! I am more of a 35mm (dress) & 40-42mm (sporty) kind of guy so I'm not sure I'll be able to wear them. It just feels too big on my wrist and I'm afraid I won't be able to pull it off. They are 47mm wide (50mm including crown)!!!!! The Deporte is ~44mm wide but does not wear nearly as big. I think it is because it is sort of boxy and doesn't have long lugs.

The lume on these divers are nice. The Deporte hands glow like they are radioactive but the printed dial fades within a few minutes. The 32 Degrees dial and hands are more evenly matched and glow very brightly.

The crowns on the 32 degrees screw down without a hitch, like my Invicta 8926. But this Deporte has a bad first thread. It takes a few tries to get it going but when it catches, it screws down 5-6 turns.

The straps are super soft. I'm guessing they are made out of silicone. The Deporte strap is very long, I don't even get half way through the holes and I have a 8 1/4" wrist. I may have to trim it. The 32 Degrees straps are nice. I like the tire tread. But it only has 3 holes left when on my wrist. Not a lot more room for a bigger wrist.

The bezels on both models are fully functional and have 120 clicks. Some websites list the 32 Degrees divers with fixed bezels. They turn but it takes a little force. I guess they will loosen up in time. This is my first scalloped bezel and I like the style but it doesn't grip as well as the saw tooth bezel on the Deporte.

The Deporte is running about +25sec/day. I haven't timed the 32 Degrees yet but I guess they will be that or better.

So I guess the Deporte is a keeper. I love the yellow dial and haven't taken it off for days. The blue/black/red dials on the 32 Degrees are nice as well. But I just wish they had an orange one. I guess I'll start looking for an orange Deporte/Tauchmeister with an auto mov't.

Not much of a review. More like a stream of consciousness. So enough of my blathering and on to the pictures.

    NIce review, Gifgy!

Both of those divers look like nice pieces! I got a few of the 32 degree watches also and they are interesting.
I bought the Reflex Automatic Skeleton in Rose gold and also the chronograph with the funky push button chrono activation.

I really like their pieces and in general am impressed with their watches for the price. I did have a crown fall off of one of my Reflex pieces. The winders also were shipped with defective power adapters but new ones were shipped upon request.

I was looking at those divers and am sort of up in the air on whether to get one of em. Sort of big but not bad for the $$$.

The miyota 8205 is usually an automatic with day and date functions while the 8215 is with the date only. It could be there was a mistake on the listing or perhaps they did use the 8205 for some reason.
