Thumbs Up Tissot Seastar 1000 Review by AgentORange

Well, after nearly five years of drooling over this watch, I was successful in locating a pre-loved one in 95 percent condition. I am impressed! It has the smoothest operating bezel (60-clicks) that I have ever encountered.

It has a nice curved sapphire crystal and signed screw-down crown.

    Decent lume, too.

Powered by an Eta 2824-2 automatic movement, this is the most decorated rotor I have owned to date. Notice that the exhibition case back is secured not by one large threaded case back, but by individual screws. Interesting.

The combination brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet is smooth and drapes comfortably on the wrist, just like my Tissot XXL Chronograph did. It's also got a nice safety clasp system with a combination of the stamped Tissot logo and 1000 (for feet, not meters water resistant ;)). The Seastar logo is laser etched. BTW, there also is a diver's extension on the bracelet, which I consider a necessity for a watch to really be considered a true diver's watch.

Feels real good on the wrist. I know this 44mm beauty is a keeper and that it will have a long honeymoon period with me.

    Thanks for looking!:thanks
On an eternal search for just the right watch ...

Are the end links solid or folded?

Just got my 95%er for 285 shipped off the forums by acting fast and offering an immediate paypal payment.

It took me a month, but I got my watch, in near mint condition for my price....and it feels great.

This watch arriving at my doorstep for less than 300bucks....thats unreal to me and to many who have seen this swiss workorse in person.

The 660 is for sale...and it looks amazing as well...but I have a huge wrist so I opted for the upgrade. If the 660 got me compliments(and honestly it did) the 1000 is going to catch eyes.

Lol at people thinking 200 for a Seiko monster is the best deal out there when you can go SWISS and ETA and just PRETTIER for not even 100 bucks more if you are sharp.

These watches annihilate Seikos in person...im sorry, I grew up a seiko diver fan but we are talking two entirely different strata imho.

Umm you are comparing a new Seiko watch to a used Seastar. You ought to compare the Seastar to the Seiko counterpart, their 6R15 Diver, it's only fair. That will be a hack, hand wind capable movement. For a brand new watch at 200, is damn good find. The Monster used is even less, and greater value. It's an odd comparison you made there.

But I will also be trolling the forums for this watch also or maybe a Accutron VX-200. I recently got an ETA-2824 Diver with exhibition caseback and fairly happy with it. I may actually go for a Seiko since it's a different watch or Orient.

And also, nice review, thanks AgentOrange.
