    Children's fountain pens

I'm trying to instill the love of fine writing and writing decorum to my gorgeously effervescent 5 and a bit daughter.

In the first part - What are good brands that make Children's fountain pens

I searched so far and discovered

    Staedtler
    Pelikano
    Beresol

On looks only my 5 you decided upon the Staedtler - so I'm looking for a good place to buy a few - in case of loss breakage, theft and no doubt burial in the garden together with my other 2 digital cameras ( Daddy I wanted to plant them to get flowers ) Also looking for converters as I do not like cartridges....and any other kid friendly odds and ends in the penmanship department.

So my question to you kind folks :

    1) A good place to buy a few
    2) Alternate brand/product suggestions
    3) Any other ideas to encourage fine penmanship , the love of fine paper, and general - word craft

    Thanks

    Rio

Search amazon.com for disposable fountain pens. That should fit the bill!

Pilot makes a great disposable; and at 5, I think that's the way to go.

Thank you for your replies - After the first reply I had a look but the idea of a disposable fountain pen - didn't sit right with me.

I do like the idea of choosing inks and the ritual of filling cleaning etc...

I was hoping to tap into the collective consciousness of the Pen forum to extricate from a crevice, some unique pen that someone was making with kids in mind,......

For the record, the Staedtler arrived yesterday....if anyone is interested I could post a review........

    with thanks and best wishes

Please do. It is always fun to read someone's opnion on how a fountain pen does.

    Thanks & good luck!

Try to get a Lamy ABC. I think 90% of French and German children start with one of those as they are just great pens for children. The size is a good fit, they are easy to use and you can use them with cartridges or a converter.

Available in BLUE (Clicky) or RED (Clicky)

Made in Germany and with $26 not exactly expensive. Add 4.95 for a converter and you can use whatever ink you have in mind...
