    Lamy 2000

Hello everyone! I'm looking into purchasing a Lamy 2000 as my next fountain pen. Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share?!

    Thank you in advance!

I don't have the FP, but I sure enjoy the Lamy 2000 Rollerball that I bought last year. The appearance is simple and perhaps somewhat "plain jane" but it sure fits my hand perfectly.

    Hello,
I have the fp w/fine nib and like the pen very much. Nice clean and clear line, and comfortable to write with. Holds a lot of ink too.

Lamy 2000's are a acquired taste in my opinion (just like the rest of the lamy line: safari, dialog 3 etc etc) the main issues I have read about are lamy's quality control issues with the nib/tines. But other then that, I think they are a good buy (assuming you like the looks)

I am an avid FP user, both vintage and modern. While most modern fountain pens are not to my liking, there are a few exceptions. The Lamy 2000 is one of them. It is in my opinion one of the best pen designs ever, and the FP feels great in the hand, is very light so you can easily write for hours, is strong as all get out, and one of the smoothest writers you will find. The piston filler system is great, too. For modern pens, I usually stick with Japanese brands like Pilot, but the Lamy 2000 is a modern classic. You can find them for around $100 if you look hard enough.

I am a fountain pen collector, my everyday user is my L2K or Lamy 2000.
    I highly recommend it.
Here is a little review I wrote of my Lamy.

I enjoy my Lamy 2000 and use it as my daily driver. I consider it to be a timeless classic in a modern pen, available in a key stroke, and represents a great value in a fountain pen. I like a somewhat understated look and value writing qualities over bling. it holds a lot of ink and I use it everyday. I like my Pelikans too but the 2000 gives nothing up to them.

I just got my Lamy 2000 this week. It's solidly built but not too heavy. It's perfect for me since I am in my mid 20s. I don't want gold or too much bling. This pen has been around for decades so you will it's a timeless pen.

I got it from pen gallery.com. They have excellent service.
