Looking for a Mont Blanc Ball Point pen..

Hello folks, I'm not a regular poster here but I've always liked pens althought I have to say that I've never really been interested in Fountain Pens (please don't hate me for this).. Now I've always liked the Mont Blanc brand and I would like to purchase one but I'm not looking to spend too much $$ on it so my question is, Which Ball Point Mont Blanc pen would you recommend and what is it's price range? Thanks

Really not intending to be crass, but that's kind of like asking us which toothbrush you should buy. Mont Blanc pens are expensive, the refill for ball points alone cost $10-$20 and possibly more if shipped to Central America.
The most popular ball point is probably the 164 and can be had for $150-$300 depending on how well you search. You can spend over $1000 on a L.E. You are really going to have to try them out for yourself before spending that kind of money.

Hello there hswjr, thanks for your opinion, now I know that MBs are expensive, don't get me wrong, I don't expect to pay 50$ for one, but i've always wanted one and thought this would be a good time to try em' out, now in this case, I'm searching for an entry level, not so expensive, model.. This was my initial question.

BTW, shipping would be to CONUS cause I just don't trust my local PO...

My favorite ball point by Mont Blanc is the Star Walker. It puffs out near the bottom, perfect for writing.

try costco. sometimes they sell MBs at a discount. note however, that since theyre not an AD of MB, I'm not sure how the warranty works out there.

Check out the new ST Dupont's and Montegrappa. There are some amazing models from these guys. I feel Mont Blanc is now passe and become too much of a 'posers' pen....but thats just me...used to have a range of MB's from 2005 to 2008...then once it became too popular and also counterfeited , moved away to ST Dupont's and soon a Montegrappa.

Hey go to google and search an ebay seller called pencharette, she use to be a montblanc dealer but retired due to health reasons but she has some good connections. I believe she gets the "floor" models of pens from other dealers across the U.S. and so her prices are very competitive. They may have some minor scratches from people from other stores handling them but you're going to scratch a pen either way, why not do it to a pen you bought for half the price.

    Thanks
    Brad
