Pen Suggestion needed for grad gift

    Hello all,

I am thinking about getting my fiancee a pen and leather portfolio as she gets set to graduate with her masters in social work, and will be doing a lot of writing notes and things on clients.

I am also a grad student, and she has a very nice engagement ring on her finger, so I can't break the bank on something like a mont blanc.

So are there more reasonably priced pens out there that you can recommend? I'd like to find perhaps a more "girly" color, while still being professional, like a dark purple or something like that. But am open to ideas.

Lets start with brands that are in a reasonable price range, say less than $100-ish, and go from there?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Namiki/Pilot Vanishing point is a great pen for jotting notes and writing in general. Retractable Fountain pen. Can be had for around $100 in various colors. For other ideas, try browsing a site like Fountain Pen Hospital - Celebrating 65 years as the world's showcase of fine writing instruments.
